Bidule - Großartige Hosting-Umgebung für Windows und MacOS X. Erlaubt beliebige Verkabelung von virtuellen Instrumenten und Effekten (VSTi/AU). Sehr gut geeignet in Verbindung mit MIDI Yoke NT und ASIO4All (auf dem PC). Perfekt auf dem Mac: Es ist keine Zusatzsoftware nötig, MIDI geht direkt zu bidule.

Tobybear Midihost - A freeware VST host that can load your plug-ins (Windows)

Apple AU Lab - This host was actually made for audio unit development. It comes with MacOSX as part of the developer tools (see CDROM). Anyway, it's a lean AU host and mixer application that you can use to host your VI (free).

XML Device Definitions für Klangerzeuger (1) - Apple's Audio MIDI Setup (AMS) Anwendung ist sehr nützlich, um die Eigenschaften und Soundbänke externer Klangerzeuger automatisch zu erfassen. Cognitone-Programme können diese XML-Dateien einlesen und Ihnen so stundenlanges Eintippen ersparen.
