Harmony Navigator and Synfire Pro generate MIDI data - not Sound. While it is possible to render all output on the operating system's built-in synthesizer, we recommend using external equipment (keyboards, rack expanders) or stand-alone software instruments to achieve the best sound quality. Our products do not yet operate as a VST/AU host themselves (i.e. can not load and control virtual instruments directly). Hence you will need to send MIDI output to the software instruments over a "virtual MIDI cable" (loopback driver). See our download links section for available freeware utilities.
Please note that the CPU power consumed by Harmony Navigator and Synfire Pro is about the same as is required for a state-of-the-art sequencing software. This considerably limits the number of virtual instruments that can be used at the same time.
