Inspiring New Workflows
The Harmony First workflow derives melodies from a harmony progression. The fastest path to a consistent prototype you can export and orchestrate in a DAW. This cinematic opening was composed and arranged in three hours (raw bounce-to-disk without mixing). The workflow is explained here.
Reusable Elements
Synfire provides all tools for collecting, editing and arranging reusable elements (phrasings, motifs, textures, build-ups, harmonies etc). This arrangement was assembled from elements taken from a library. Mostly drag and drop. The associated tutorial is found here.
This piece (re)uses some elements of the arrangement above in the middle part (staccato strings and woodwinds). It is based largely on a single piano phrase that wanders through changing harmony.
Any Genre You Want
Not into orchestral music? Like a DAW, Synfire is open to all genres and styles. It is based on the universal principles of music. It is not hardwired to anything. In fact, prototyping and arranging other genres is pretty easy. Check out a few examples we have done for testing Synfire's features here.
